Hi, I’m Samantha.
I started Perfectly Samantha last year to pay off my student loan debt. No, I’m not kidding, and yes, I realize now how . . . optimistic that was. After struggling with why I had a blog in the first place, I finally figured it out on October 17, 2019.
Have you ever had an imaginary argument?
Like, you think of what you would say to someone because in real life you never have the perfect comeback ready? I have. This person and I were talking on social media. I knew I couldn’t say what I really wanted to say, which was that they weren’t being themselves, at least around me.
I thought that if I changed, things would be different.
Spoiler alert: They weren’t.
The imaginary argument didn’t help either. (Shocking!) In fact, I was so frustrated that I started arguing with myself:
“I feel like no matter who I try to be, it’s not good enough.”
“So, why not be you?”
It was like the clouds opened up.
On my 30th birthday, I promised myself I would make my thirties my best decade yet. Instead, I spent the first four months trying to be someone I wasn’t. I shouldn’t be anyone I’m not, nor should anyone else.
I decided to make Perfectly Samantha two entities.
The first is a YouTube channel where I review movies and TV shows.
The second is this, a half lifestyle blog/half memoir. I tell my story to encourage you to tell yours and give tips on making each day your best day. I discuss my Christian faith, thirty-something life, affordable style and writing, along with the occasional review.
My blog is a little sparse right now, but now that I know what I’m doing, I imagine I’ll be able to showcase my favourite blog posts here in no time. You can subscribe in the sidebar to get new posts via email.
Thanks so much for visiting today, and please leave your blog or YouTube channel in the comments. I’ll be creating a blogroll with my favourite blogs and vlogs soon.
